There has been a shift in the paradigm since the inception of SAMBANDH in 1992. The proactive role of our organization has enhanced the quality of life of the poor. Our progressive acts like NREGA and RTI have been made demand-driving; now, the poor ask for their entitlements. Panchayats are the key empowering institutions for us to fight against the demoeratic deficit in the villages.
Taking the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) as the mandate, we strenthen the Social watch groups to plan, enforce and monitor the goals. We are dedicated to working towards the creation of knowledge driven organizations and a Society which has access to traditional knowledge solutions and services facilitating health and livelihood.
We have established a strong network of civil society organizations in India on traditional knowledge management. Sambandh is being represented at the high level committee in Planning Commission, New Delhi, for policy making on Local Health Traditions for 11th Five-year plan 2007-2011. |
