Thrift & Credit Institution an alternative paradigm for Economic Security
With a view to enable the tribal to have access to production / income in both farm & non-farm activities micro-finance service have been provided to the thrift & credit institutions of women.

Sambandh has already promoted 244 self help group s covering about 5000 members with totl annual transacion of more than 10lakh.

  • NTFP


Success Story
Mahula trading raised their group fund :

Uday Surya Mahila Sanchay Samiti of Dhalabani, comprising of 19 members started Mahula business investing Rs. 1800/- from their group fund in 1999. They purchased 300 Kg of Mahula @ Rs. 6/- per kg and sold @ Rs. 7.50/- per Kg. & profited by Rs. 450/-. The profit amount they have deposited in their group fund. At present they are getting Rs.200/- per week through this trade, which multiplies their group fund.

Grocery shop : Show a new light to the woman
Smt. Nasamani Murmu of W/O Sunaram Murmu of Bhalupani village is the member of Agrani Mahila Sanchay Samiti
She has started a grocery shop in 1999 with the credit Rs.1000/- supported by Sambandh to the group. Along with marketing through her shop she also started selling the items moving around village weekly markets (Hats). She earns Rs.600/- per month. Last year she became successful in availing loan amount of Rs. 6000/- from Bank & invested in her business. Now she earns Rs.1500/- to Rs.2000/- in a month.

Piggery : Saved her family
35 years old Pana Ho is the member of Athar Deuli Mahila Sanchay Samiti of Gurgudia, used to collect MFP items. Her husband Bana Ho is a marginal farmer. They have 5 children and it was difficult on their part to sustain the family with their minimum earnings. In 1998 Pana started piggery through credit assistance of Rs.1200/- from Sambandh. She sold two pigs at the rate of Rs.1800/- and got Rs.3600/-. Now she has 8 pigs whose value is near about Rs.14000/-. Being impressed by her IGP activity a loan amount of Rs.36, 000/- has been sanctioned to her husband under employment Assurance Scheme of Govt.for launching a hawler mill.
All the above programs have been undertaken in the tribal belt of Mayurbhanj district under the tribal development projects Aranyani & abhipsa.
